Conrad Hall has created some of the powerful images in cinema history. His work in Road to Perdition is a masterclass in cinematography. I remember a few years ago I watched Inception and Road to Perdition back to back. Compared to the master I totally see that Wally Pfister, who I love, still have a long way to go.
Fun fact - Roger Deakins decided to become a cinematographer after he watched John Huston's "Fat City", shot by Conrad Hall.
