Ming Jue Hu is a Chinese-American cinematographer working across the U.S. and internationally.
Born in China, and raised in New York, Ming brings an instinct for different cultures and perspectives to his work. His cinematography is grounded in character and point of view, with an emphasis on naturalistic light, expressive composition, and camera movement shaped by story.
His feature work includes LaRoy, Texas, which premiered in competition at the Tribeca Festival and won the Grand Prix at Deauville, and There Will Be Snow, which premiered at the Busan International Film Festival. His recent short-form work includes Bloodline, selected for TIFF Short Cuts, and In My Blood, winner of the Independent TV Pilot at SXSW.
Ming was named one of American Cinematographer’s Rising Stars of Cinematography. He holds an MFA in Cinematography from the AFI Conservatory and a BFA in Film & Television from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. He is a member of ICG Local 600.
